The Project

Client

London Borough of Haringey

Project Value

£2.7M

Refurbishment works to enhance the historic fabric of Hornsey Library, a two-storey, Grade II listed building in Crouch End, to make it bigger, better and more accessible, on behalf of the London Borough of Haringey. The building fabric was retained, restored and reused as much as possible, including original furniture and shelving, minimising the environmental impact of new materials.

Social Value

Apprentices

We had Apprentices / Work Experience Placements on site for 20 weeks of the project duration.

Local Supply Chain

12 of the 16 sub-contractors used were within a 10 mile radius of site. 15 of the sub-contractors were SMEs. Helping to retain money within the local community and providing opportunities.

Recognition

Hornsey Library was nominated for the Architect’s Journal Retrofit Awards 2021 – Cultural and Religious Buildings under £5M category.
