Our aim is to strengthen communities by delivering sustainable buildings and minimising the impact our business has on the environment.

The business community has a key role to play in averting a climate catastrophe and unlocking the potential for green growth. We are determined to play our part and have made science-based commitments to reach Net Zero Green House Gas Emissions.

We’ve launched our official ‘Road to Net Zero’ Action Plan and have committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2040 for our Scope 1 & 2 emissions, and by 2045 for our Scope 4 emissions. The plan includes a series of short, medium and long-term objectives.

Winner of the BSG Environmental Award - June 2022

Following the release of our Net Zero action plan, we’re proud to have been awarded the Environmental Award in recognition of our commitment to Net Carbon Zero at the Building Safety Group – Health and Safety Awards 2021. An award presented to a BSG member who is best equipped to demonstrate how a recently implemented system of procedure will have a positive impact on the environment.

Our approach to sustainability is structured around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and our internal T&B Sustainability Steering Group (SSG) helps to focus our approach on the areas where we can create the most change. These are put at the heart of our Business Strategy.

The SSG is a group of T&B employees who have a passion for change and a desire to drive our sustainability agenda forward. The purpose is to further integrate sustainability into our strategy and operations, to set the tone and develop a culture within the business.

Delivering environmental and sustainable change does not just relate to our construction activity, but helps to deliver positive change across all of our business activities, and aligns with our core Social Value commitment.
